One person died and another was critically injured after their vehicle overturned on the R102 near the King Shaka international traffic lights just before 01h00 this morning. Reports indicate that the vehicle was traveling south bound when it veered off the road and overturned, its occupants ejected as it was tumbling down the road.
Netcare 911 paramedics arrived at the scene and found the wreckage to have come to rest on its roof down an embankment with a female patient trapped under the roof, the other patient was found near the wreckage. Paramedics worked fervently to extricate the female but tragically she died on scene due to the extensive injuries that she sustained.
A male patient had sustained critical injuries and after paramedics stabilised him on scene they transported the man to a local hospital for the care that he required.
