Serious collision leaves 4 injured on Sydney Road in Durban

Four people have been injured two seriously so after three vehicles were involved in a collision on Sydney Road Umbilo, Durban just after 12:30pm today.

First to arrive on the scene Rescue Care paramedics found that two vehicles had collided before one of the vehicles lost control and hit a stationary trailer on the side of the roadway. Both the occupants of the one vehicle were found still entrapped in the wreckage. Rescue services as well as Advanced Life Support paramedics were called to assist. Once stabilized by paramedics the two were cut free by the Durban Fire Department. The two were then carefully extricated from the vehicle before being transported by ambulance to St Augustine’s Hospital for further care that they required. A further two people from the second vehicle had also been injured and was stabilized on the scene before being transported to the same facility for further care.

It is unclear what caused the collision to occur however SAPS were on the scene and will be investigating further.
