Two people were injured late yesterday afternoon when a truck and bakkie collided, causing the truck to overturn, on the N1 highway past the Koeberg interchange, Cape Town.
Traffic was heavily affected due to the wreckage of the two vehicles spread across the highway. A light motor vehicle and articulated truck collided, causing the truck to roll onto its side and land on the roadside barriers.
ER24 paramedics immediately barricaded the scene on the highway for the safety of the workers. Upon their assessment, paramedics discovered that truck driver sustained minor injuries including minor lacerations and abrasions.
He was treated and transported shortly afterwards to a nearby hospital for further treatment.
Fire department personnel were on scene to assist in the clearing of the spillage.
The cause of the collision is unknown and local authorities were on scene for investigations.
