An elderly man tragically died after his vehicle overturned on the N2 North near Umhlanga this afternoon. Exact detail to the cause of the accident and preceding events will remain a subject for police investigation and comment.
Netcare 911 paramedics arrived at the scene and found the driver a man in his sixties still trapped in the wreckage of his car with life threatening injuries. Paramedics performed a rapid extrication and immediately started to resuscitate the man. Tragically despite all their efforts the patient was declared dead at the scene.
