What does the K53 say about overtaking and dividing lines on the road surface?

This image and text is from page 45 of The New Official K53 Manual . The black pointers are to indicated the direction of travel, for clarification purposes. They do not actually appear on the road surface.

Notes:

  1. The two markings are regulatory markings and must be obeyed.
  2. The single No Overtaking line means you may cross it to access property or avoid a stationary obstruction.
  3. The No Crossing double-line means you may not cross the lines at all.
  4. Any broken white line between the two is a warning marking called a Dividing Line, to indicate that this is a two-way road and that any vehicles on the other side of that line are travelling towards you. It does not affect the rules related to the solid lines.
