19 people were injured when a taxi collided with a Bakkie at the intersection of Malibongwe and the R114, Nooitgedacht late this afternoon.
ER24, along with other services, arrived on scene to find the badly damaged taxi lying on its side as the passengers lay next to the barrier.
Paramedics rushed in to begin their assessment, discovering 19 patients, their injuries ranging from minor to moderate. ER24 immediately immobilised four patients, placing them on spine boards before being transported to various hospitals in Johannesburg. The remainder of the patients were transported by various services on scene.
The cause of the collision is not yet known and investigations are underway.
