Collision between a car and bakkie near Shelly Beach leaves three injured

Paramedics from KZN Emergency Medical Services and several private ambulance services responded to the R61 near Shelly Beach on the KZN South Coast, earlier this afternoon where there was an accident between a car and bakkie.

Three people were injured in the accident and were treated by the paramedics on scene, before being transported to hospital for further medical care.

The police are investigating the cause of the accident. Though it is not known if the wet roads may have contributed to this accident, motorist are urged to please be extra cautious when driving on the wet roads. To slow down and to increase following distances.

Motorist are also please asked to slow down when approaching an accident scene, as there will be patients, by standers and EMS staff on scene at risk of bit hit by a passing vehicle.
