Crash near Harding involving a bakkie has left nine people injured

Earlier this afternoon paramedics from KZN emergency Medical Services responded to the road that links Harding and Bizana, where there was a single vehicle accident involving a bakkie.

The paramedics arrived on scene and found that nine people had been injured in this accident, which occurred just after Midday. The paramedics rapidly assessed the patients and found that four of the patients had been critically injured, the other patients had sustained serious injuries. One of the patients who sustained serious injuries was a baby who was about only  a year old.

The paramedics worked together to treat the patients on scene, before transporting them to St Andrews hospital in Harding for further medical care.

The cause and events preceding the accidents occurrence are subject to police investigation and comment.
