Durban Flying Squad Narcotics Team arrests 2 suspected drug dealers

On Monday, 10 March 2014, members from the Durban Flying Squad Narcotics Team recovered narcotics and arrested two suspects aged 30 and 34 years old in the Durban Central Business District for dealing in drugs.

Police were holding observation on a suspected drug dealer who was making his way to the Point area. As the members were following him they noticed a white VW Polo which was parked on the side of the road. The vigilant members recognized one of the occupants in the Polo as a suspected drug dealer. The members immediately stopped their vehicle and searched the two occupants. They found a small amount of ecstasy tablets in their possession. The policemen then proceeded to John Ross house where the suspects reside and after searching the house they found ten (10) packets of ecstasy tablets and two packets of CAT to the value of approximately R600 000-00. The suspects were charged with dealing in narcotics and will appear in the Durban Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, 11 March 2014.

The KwaZulu-Natal Provincial Commissioner Lieutenant General Mmamonnye Ngobeni congratulated the Narcotics Task Teams for their continued efforts in eradicating drug dealers within the Province. “We are very pleased that our members have not loosened their grip on drug dealers. Drug Dealers must know that their days are numbered,” she said.
