Inconsiderate driving behaviour may cause road rage

We would like to share an email sent to the Arrive Alive website earlier today:

I would like to request Arrive Alive to please arrange with the Metro Police for road blocks at William Nicol Off ramp, but more than two traffic officers will definitely be needed.  Vehicles like the blue Renault in the attached picture use force to push their way into the line where all other motorist are waiting (according to the SA traffic laws) in line to get onto William Nicol direction Sandton.  Upon hooting at this gentleman he decides to stand in the middle of the road and let every person other than himself also cut into this line (I counted 6 cars).  Myself and the person behind me hooted a second time at him.  He then stops his car, get out of his vehicle and start taking pictures of my car and myself.  I would like to report him to the local traffic department but as you can clearly see he deliberately blocked out his number plate so I am not able to do so.    Total time spend this morning to travel +-500m to the off-ramp:  23min due to people as describe above.   I am sure if you view the camera’s situated at the intersection you will find the same story every morning.  Vehicles cut in from the left and the right onto the only lane that goes towards Sandton.

I want to take this matter further but to who do you report this?  There will be no use reporting this gentleman without his registration number, am I correct?

While I am at it, in the afternoons on Sloane street, Bryanston direction towards William Nicol next to Brescia House traffic is also brought to a standstill due to vehicles (not just taxi’s but cars as well) who sit in the oncoming lane trying to cut their way to the front of the line (Opposite the Epsom Downs shopping Centre), they create a very hazardous environment for all road users as you do get people who start driving aggressively.

I know that this would probably not be practical for a road block but the same problems are being experienced on the N1 freeway.  Motorists and Motorcyclists block numbers on their registration plates.  I honestly think that action should be taken on a large scale.

I have recently spoke to other motorists using the same roads.  We are all fed-up with the traffic caused to incompetent road users but we feel that there is no way to turn to report these incidents.”

Kind regards
