One man sustained moderate injuries when his vehicle collided with another, causing it to flip on its side on Tom Jones road, Benoni late this afternoon. ER24 paramedics arrived on scene to find a bakkie lying on its side, the driver trapped inside. Emergency workers jumped into action, freeing the patient before treating his various injuries including soft tissue injuries to his leg and waist.
Shortly after treatment, the patient was placed on a spine board and transported to a nearby hospital for further treatment.
Witnesses said that another vehicle had apparently swerved across the lanes, colliding with the bakkie, causing it to tip over.
Local authorities were on scene for further investigations.
