Rescue Care Paramedics Ceron Lennox with Amanda Ngeleka and baby Luthando Ceron Ngeleka
Rescue Care paramedics attended to a double emergency situation last night on one scene at the corner of Essenwood Road and Argyle Road at 23:30 last night.
Rescue Care paramedics were attending to a serious motor bike collision where two people had sustained injuries one seriously so. Rescue Care’s Advanced Life Support Paramedic Ceron Lennox was attending to the seriously injured bike driver in the ambulance when she heard a ear piercing scream. She quickly went to see what had happened outside the ambulance when she was met by a stressed male. He explained to her that his wife was in labour and giving birth in the car. Ceron quickly assessed and immediately noticed that the mother was in labour and she would have to deliver the child at that minute. Preparing the area around her for sterility Ceron carefully delivered a healthy baby girl whom the mother decided to call Luthando Ceron Ngeleka after the paramedics name.
Both mother and daughter were transported to King George Hospital for a medical check up by ambulance. The seriously injured biker was also transported by Rescue Care to a nearby hospital for the further care that he required.
The initial cause of the collision is unknown at this stage however SAPS were on the scene and will be investigating further.
Ceron went to visit Mother Amanda Ngeleka and baby this morning at King George Hospital and both are doing well and should be discharged soon.
