Netcare 911 paramedics and other services responded to an accident on Malibongwe Road in Randburg this morning.
Upon their arrival on scene they found a man to be in a critical condition after he was knocked over by a motor vehicle and then two motor vehicles proceeded to collide.
The Netcare1 helicopter was activated to airlift the critically injured man to hospital for the urgent medical care that he required.
Exact detail to the cause of the accident and preceding events will remain the subject of a police investigation.
