Netcare 911 paramedics responded to an accident on the N2 south bound past the King Shaka International Airport turn-off this morning.
Upon their arrival on scene they found that one person was in a serious condition after two vehicles were involved in a rear-end collision.
The injured patient was treated on scene before being transported to hospital for further medical care.
Exact detail to the cause of the accident and preceding events will remain the subject of a police investigation.
