Netcare 911 paramedics and other services responded to an accident on the N1 south approximately fifty kilometres from Bloemfontein this morning.
Upon their arrival on scene they found that two people were injured after two heavy goods vehicles collided. One of the vehicles then overturned and came to a halt in the middle of the motorway while the second vehicle came to a halt on the side of the road.
Both patients were treated on scene before they were transported to hospital for further medical care.
Exact detail to the cause of the accident and preceding events will remain the subject of a police investigation.
