Two adults and a toddler were killed in a head-on collision on the R559, direction Randfontein, in Carletonville, Gauteng yesterday evening.
ER24 paramedics arrived on scene and found the deceased toddler, her mother and grandmother partially ejected from their badly damaged vehicle.
The other occupants of this vehicle, an adult male, a teenager and a 5-year-old child, sustained moderate injuries and were transported to Carletonville Hospital for further medical care.
The driver of the second vehicle (a 53-year-old female) was critically injured in the collision having sustained suspected head and neck trauma. She was transported to Mediclinic Potchefstroom for urgent medical treatment.
It is unclear how this collision occurred but the necessary investigations are underway.
