This morning paramedics from KZN Emergency Medical Services and private ambulance services from the Durban area were called to the N2, south bound in the Prospecton area, where a truck had collided with the Prospecton road bridge, where it crosses the N2.
When the paramedics, arrived on scene they tragically discovered that one person on board the truck had been killed in the accident, which occurred around 6am this morning. There was a second person, who sustained serious injuries, whom the paramedics treated on the scene of the accident, before being transported to hospital by a private ambulance service.
The accident resulted in the south bound lane having to be closed, which severely affected traffic, which quickly backed up to passed the old airport.
The cause of the accident is not known at this stage and the police are investigating the matter.
