A friend of the Arrive Alive road safety initiative shared a video taken from his dashboard camera of the driver of a BMW overtaking on a bend across a solid white line in a residential area.
On the Arrive Alive website we emphasize the importance of asking 3 questions before overtaking:
- Is it legal?
- Is it Safe?
- Is it necessary?
It does not matter whether it may appear to be safe and whether you may manage to pass without causing a crash or injury – if the road markings make it illegal then you may not overtake!!
