Netcare 911 paramedics and other services responded to an accident on DF Malherbe and Nelson Mandela Road in Bloemfontein last night.
Upon their arrival on scene they found that six vehicles were involved in a collision resulting in one person sustaining serious injuries.
The injured woman was treated on scene before she was transported to hospital for further medical care.
Exact detail to the cause of the accident and preceding events will remain the subject of a police investigation.
