Single vehicle road accident leaves three fighting for their lives in KZN

Paramedics from KZN Emergency Medical Services have treated patients that were injured in a collision involving a single light motor vehicle and a mini bus, on the R56 near the Umkomaas valley in the Harry Gwala district of KZN.

A team of paramedics from the Ixopo EMS base responded to the incident, they arrived on scene to find a light motor vehicle and a mini bus had collided and that several people had been injured. Several people from the mini bus were uninjured and didn’t require medical care, while one person sustained minor injuries, while sadly three patients from the car were critically injured. The paramedics provided the required advanced life support to the patients while on scene and continued treating and monitoring the patients, en-route to Christ the King hospital in Ixopo, where the patients were handed over to the facilities medical staff for continued medical care

The police, who were on scene are investigation the cause of the accident, which at this stage is still being investigated.
