Inanda Crime Intelligence and K9 Unit members made a breakthrough when they arrested three most wanted suspects for business robberies in Sydenham area, Durban. On 3 April 2014 during the day, the members embarked on an intensive operation at Sydenham area after following up leads about the whereabouts of their wanted suspects. The suspects were spotted in the area and were arrested. They were linked to eleven business robberies that were reported at Sydenham area as from November last year. All arrested suspects aged between 20 and 29 are due to appear in the Durban Magistrates’ Court on Monday, 7 April 2014.

The suspects started terrorizing the business people of Sydenham as from last year where they allegedly entered a number of business premises and at gun point robbed the staff and the customers of their belongings. It is alleged that they used their Nissan Sentra as a getaway vehicle.

KwaZulu-Natal Provincial Commissioner, Lieutenant General Mmamonnye Ngobeni has welcomed the arrest made by the members. Crime Intelligence will work harder to check if they are not wanted in other business robberies in the province.
