Taxi collision on Borough Road in Cato Manor leaves 23 injured


Twenty Three people had been left with various injuries after two taxis collided this morning on Borough Road in Cato Manor area just after 7am.

Rescue Care paramedics arrived to find patients lying all over the roadway. A quick triage was done and it was determined that three patients had suffered serious injuries whilst twenty others had suffered minor injuries. More resources were called to assist with the multiple patient scene. Once more Rescue Care ambulances had arrived all of the injured were stabilized on the scene before being transported to various Durban Hospital for the further care that they require.

It is unclear what caused the collision however it is believed a errant party did not stop at the stop street.

Saps were on the scene and will be investigating the incident further.
