Two men were killed and a third seriously injured when their vehicle overturned on the N8 near Bloemfontein this afternoon.
Responding ER24 paramedics arrived on scene and discovered that all three men (30s) were ejected from the vehicle. The driver and front seat passenger had already succumbed to their injuries.
The back seat passenger was alive but sustained serious injuries including a suspected spinal injury. He was transported to Pelanomi Hospital for urgent medical treatment.
The surviving occupant told paramedics that their driver was trying to overtake a vehicle along the single lane road when an oncoming vehicle approached. This caused him to speed back onto his lane resulting in the vehicle overturning.
No other vehicles were invoked on the collision.
The incident is under investigation.
