A school boy sustained critical injuries after he was hit by a car at the intersection of Kingsway and Link Roads in Amanzimtoti at around 18h00. Reports indicate that the Matric student was traveling down Kingsway road south bound after coming from the Gym when a vehicle came out of Link Road and collided into his side.
Netcare 911 paramedics arrived at the scene and found the cyclist an eighteen –year-old boy lying in the intersection with critical injuries. After he was stabilised and deftly immobilised on a trauma board, they transported him to a local hospital under the constant care of an advanced life support paramedic. The driver of the vehicle escaped uninjured.
