A thirty-three-year-old biker has tragically died after his motorbike slammed into the Armco barriers on the N1 North near the Mallibongwe Drive on ramp this morning at around 06h30. Exact detail to the cause of the accident and preceding events will remain a subject for police investigation and comment.
Netcare 911 paramedics arrived at the scene and found the roadway severely obstructed with accident debris and the twisted remains of the bike that came to rest about 500 meters from the point of impact. Tragically it was found that the biker had died due to the extensive injuries that he sustained.
