Earlier this morning paramedics and emergency services responded to the R102 between Stanger and Darnall where there was a motor vehicle accident.
The collision which occurred after 7am this morning was between a truck and light delivery type vehicle. Both vehicles were extensively damaged, with even the wheel and part of the suspension shearing off the truck during the collision. Sadly the one driver sustained fatal injuries. The other was injured and taken to hospital by private ambulance for further care, after receiving treatment on scene.
The police who were on scene are investigating the cause of the accident and the events leading up to the collision.
