This morning paramedics have responded to a truck accident on the N3 South bound near the Ultra City in the Estcourt area of Northern KZN.
When the paramedics from KZN Emergency Medical Services and a private ambulance service arrived on scene, at about 06h00 this morning, they found a truck, which was carrying a load of barrels containing a non-hazardous substance, had left the road and over turned. A small fire which had started in the cab of the overturned truck had fortunately been extinguished by other passing truck drivers using their fire extinguishers and the fire department.
When the paramedics had determined that it was save to approach the scene and they assessed the patients, they found that sadly two of the patients, both men had died in the accident and a third person had sustained only minor injuries as was not wanting to go to hospital after being assessed by the paramedics.
The cause of the accident is being investigated by the Police
