Five people were injured this morning when two vehicles overturned on the N3 highway between Hammersdale and Peacevale in KwaZulu Natal.
The fast lane had to be closed for some time due to the two wreckages obstructing the motorway.
Closer inspection showed that the five occupants of the bakkie sustained injuries ranging from minor to moderate. The driver of the second vehicle was fortunate not to have sustained any injury.
ER24 paramedics treated the injured patients on scene before transporting them by ambulance to a nearby hospital for further treatment.
The driver of the light motor vehicle told paramedics that she had swerved to avoid an object in the road. This caused her to lose control.
Local authorities were on scene to investigate further.
