Two people were seriously injured after a bakkie veered off the n2 south hurtled through the long grass and then plunged into a storm water drain. Exact detail to the cause of the accident and preceding events will remain a subject for police investigation and comment.
Netcare 911 paramedics arrived at the scene and had to hike through the bush and then clamber into the canal with their equipment to stabilise the injured husband and wife. After treating them and skilfully immobilising them on trauma boards they transported the patients to a local hospital for the care that they required.
