A man in his 30s is in a critical condition after he was hit by a SUV this morning on the N12 near Daveyton, Johannesburg East.
ER24 paramedics arrived on scene and found the man lying in the fast lane of the highway. He had sustained severe head and neck injuries.
Advanced life support was performed on the patient and he was thereafter transported by ambulance to a nearby hospital for urgent medical treatment.
The driver of the SUV was fortunately not injured in this incident.
Local authorities were on scene to begin their investigations.
