A pedestrian in his early thirties was critically injured on Bimkleman road, New Germany in KwaZulu Natal last night.
The man was discovered to have sustained severe injuries on his head and chest from the collision. ER24 paramedics treated the patient and administered rescue breathing techniques to rectify his compromised airway.
En route to Albert Luthuli Hospital the man’s vital organs became comprised and he was resuscitated inside the ambulance.
On arrival at the hospital resuscitation procedures continued but unfortunately the patient succumbed to his injuries.
The incident is under investigation.
