Photos from early morning serious taxi collision in Midrand

This morning at 7am EMER-G-MED’s M07, RV6, A06 and A02 responded to reports of a serious taxi versus truck collision on the corners of Allandale and Klipfontein in Midrand.

Paramedics arrived on scene to find that a taxi had rolled after a T-bone collision with an 18-wheeler truck. Paramedics were faced with multiple critical patients.

As paramedics assessed the injured they discovered that there was one person who had unfortunately succumbed to her injuries – she was declared deceased on scene.

A further four patients sustained critical injuries – two of which were placed on Life Support while paramedics decided to fly them to Charlotte Maxeke Academic Hospital in Johannesburg. Another nine patients with moderate injuries were transported by road to various provincial hospitals.

EMER-G-MED transported two critical patients by road, who had sustained serious head and chest injuries to a near-by provincial hospital.

JMPD accident investigation unit were on scene to investigate the cause of the collision.
