A man tragically died and another was critically injured in a head-on collision in the Mankweng settlement about 30 kilometres out of Polokwane this evening at around 18h30. Exact detail to the cause of the accident and preceding events will remain a subject for police investigation and comment.
Netcare 911 paramedics arrived at the scene and found that a car and a ten ton truck collided on a rural road. The driver of the car tragically died on scene due to the extensive injuries that he sustained, a passenger had sustained life threatening injuries and was in a critical condition.
After the patient was stabilised at the scene they transported him to a local hospital for the care that he required.
