Netcare 911 paramedics and other services responded to an accident on the N1 Danie Joubert Freeway in Derdepoort, Pretoria this morning at around 02h00.
Upon their arrival on scene they found that a motor vehicle had left the roadway, overturned and came to a standstill down an embankment.
One person was found to be in a critical condition. The patient was treated and stabilised on scene before being rushed to hospital for further medical care.
Exact detail to the cause of the accident and preceding events will remain the subject of a police investigation.
