One man died and another escaped uninjured after a truck and a Kia Bakkie collided on the R102 in the New Gelderland area near Stanger this morning at around 08h42. Exact detail to the cause of the accident and preceding events will remain a subject for police comment.
Netcare 911 paramedics arrived at the scene and found the bakkie to have been ripped apart , its wreckage coming to rest at the side of the roadway. Firemen used the Jaws of Life to free the trapped driver from the twisted remains while paramedics treated another person. Tragically the driver died before our arrival the other person had minor injuries and refused further treatment.
