Netcare 911 paramedics and other services responded to a pedestrian accident on Jali Street in Ivory Park, Tembisa after 13h00 this afternoon.
Upon their arrival on scene they found that a fifteen-year-old child was in a critical condition after being knocked over by a light delivery vehicle.
The Netcare1 helicopter was activated to airlift the critically injured patient to hospital for the urgent medical care required.
Exact detail to the cause of the accident and preceding events will remain the subject of a police investigation.
