Netcare 911 paramedics responded to an accident on the N1 south bound approximately fifty kilometres outside Bloemfontein this afternoon.
Upon their arrival on scene they found that one person was in serious condition after a heavy goods vehicle overturned.
The injured patient was treated on scene before being transported to hospital for further medical care.
Exact detail to the cause of the accident and preceding events will remain the subject of a police investigation.
