Netcare 911 paramedics and other services responded to an accident on Kingsway Road in Auckland Park this afternoon.
Upon their arrival on scene they found that a light delivery vehicle had left the roadway, knocked over two pedestrians and crashed through a fence.
The two pedestrians were found to be in a critical and serious condition respectively and the driver of the light delivery vehicle found to have sustained moderate injuries.
All the patients were treated on scene before they were transported to hospital for further medical care.
Exact detail to the cause of the accident and preceding events will remain the subject of a police investigation.
