Bus rollover at weekend sees massive EMS response

Earlier this evening KZN Emergency Medical Services received emergency callls regarding a bus that had overturned on the R614 near the Msuze police station, in the Ilembe district of KZN.KZN EMS paramedics on board five ambulances and several response vehicles were despatched to the accident. Additional ambulances were also dispatched from the Durban district. Paramedics from a private ambulance service also responded to the call.

Paramedics arrived on scene to find a charter bus lying on this side. 32 people had been injured. Paramedics assessed and triage all of the patients and found that they had all sustained only minor injuries. Medics then provided there necessary medical care before transporting. 29 of the patientsto Montebello hospital for continued care. The other three patients were transported from the scene privately.

The cause of the accident and the circumstances leading up to the bus overturning are being investigated by the police.
