A 13-year-old girl is in a critical condition this morning after she was knocked off her bike on Hardwick Road in Newcastle, KwaZulu Natal.
ER24 paramedics arrived on scene and found the young girl lying on the side of the road. A few motorists stopped on the side of the road to offer the young girl assistance.
Advanced life support was performed on the patient for the severe injuries she sustained and was thereafter transported to Mediclinic Newcastle for urgent medical treatment.
The driver of the vehicle did not sustain any injuries.
The exact cause of the collision is not yet known and local authorities were on scene for further investigations.
