One person has died and two others have been injured after two vehicles collided on the N3 North bound before Paradise Valley in Westville Durban last night around 9pm.
Rescue Care paramedics and other emergency services arrived on the scene to find carnage. The vehicles had collided before one of the vehicles rolled several times. The entire engine was ripped loose whilst the vehicle was rolling and was found on the busy freeway. Unfortunately the driver of the vehicle was also ejected and when paramedics assessed him they found that he had unfortunately passed away due to the severity of his injuries. The two occupants from the second vehicle where treated on scene for minor injuries before being transported to a nearby facility by ambulance.
At this stage it is unclear what caused the collision however SAPS were on the scene and will be investigating further.
Traffic was severely affected as only one lane was open whilst emergency personal worked to clear the scene.
