Driver injured after vehicle hits tree in Durban

One person has sustained moderate injuries after the vehicle she was driving collided with a tree yesterday afternoon around 3pm at the intersection of Manning Road and Penzance Road.

On arrival Rescue Care paramedics found the injured lady seated in her vehicle. They quickly assessed her and found that she had sustained moderate injuries as a result of the collision. Paramedics stabilized the injured lady before carefully extricating her from the vehicle. Once she was extricated the patient was placed on a special spinal stretcher to avoid any further injury. She was then transported to a nearby hospital for the further care that she required.

It is unclear what caused the single vehicle to lose control and collide with the tree however the necessary authorities were on the scene and will be investigating further.
