Around midnight last night paramedics from KZN Emergency Medical Services and emergency services, responded to a collision between two trucks on the N3 near Lions River.
The paramedics arrived on scene to find the cab of the one truck had been extensively damaged during the collision and sadly the male driver of the truck had sustained fatal injuries. The driver of the other truck was not injured and decided not to be transported to hospital after being checked by the paramedics.
The one lane of the highway was obstructed for several hours, while the scene was cleared and traffic was free flowing by around 5am.
The cause of the collision and events preceding the collision will be for police and Department of Transports comment.
