Netcare 911 paramedics responded to an accident in Hammersdale this morning.
Upon their arrival on scene they found that a light delivery vehicle had left the roadway, drove off a bridge and landed on the N3 below the bridge against a barrier.
A man was found to be in a serious condition and after receiving treatment on scene, he was transported to hospital for further medical care.
Exact detail to the cause of the accident and preceding events will remain the subject of a police investigation.
