Pedestrian critically injured on N2

Crisis Medical Paramedics were called to an Accident scene on 21 June at around 11:30, at the N2 North after Gateway, first to arrive on scene, they found one male patient lying in front of a badly damaged vehicle.

Paramedic’s immediately began stabilizing the patient and Advanced Life support was called to assist with the patient.

After assessment of the patient, it was found that the 30 year old male had sustained serious head trauma, and other fractures. A decision was made due to the patients Level of consciousness and head trauma to fly the patient to Albert Luthuli hospital. The patient was stabilized on scene by Crisis Medical Paramedics, while the road was closed for the landing of the Helicopter.

Traffic was affected for about 30 minutes while the Helicopter landed, and the patient was handed over to Heli paramedics to take of care of the critical patient.
