Richards Bay vehicle crash into tree leaves one injured

A man was seriously injured after his vehicle collided into a tree along Dune Route Meer-en-See Richards Bay. Exact detail to the cause of the accident and preceding events will remain a subject for police investigation and comment.

Netcare 911 paramedics arrived at the scene and found that the crumpled remains of the vehicle had come to rest against a tree next to the roadway with two people still trapped in the twisted metal. Paramedics used the Jaws of Life to free the men, once they opened the one door one of the occupants got out of the wreckage and ran away from the scene.

The other occupant was extricated and then stabilised on scene before paramedics transported him to a local hospital for the care that he required.
