Two motorbike riders killed in separate collisions in Cape Town

Two people have been killed this evening in two separate motorbike collisions in Cape Town.

In the first incident a rider was killed on the R27 near Melkbos when his motorbike crashed into three vehicles. When paramedics arrived on the scene they found that the man succumbed to his injuries. Unfortunately he sustained multiple amputations during the collision.

Paramedics assessed the occupants of the three vehicles and found that they sustained no injuries.

In the second collision a rider, believed to be in his early 30’s, was killed on the N7 near the weigh bridge. It is understood that a vehicle traveling in the opposite direction lost control and rolled over the centre median into oncoming traffic.

Bystanders on the scene explained that the motorbike rider collided into the overturned vehicle. Sadly he sustained fatal injuries during the collision.

The driver of the vehicle did not sustain any injuries.

Both incidents was handed over to local authorities for further investigation into the exact cause.
