Two pedestrians were killed in two separate incidents near Newcastle, KwaZulu Natal yesterday evening.
Just before 19:00, a man in his 40s was killed on impact when a light motor vehicle hit him.
When ER24 arrived on the P483 between Newcastle and Madadeni, they discovered that he had already succumbed to severe head trauma.
It is unknown how the collision occurred however, ER24 paramedics were told that he was crossing the main road when the vehicle pummeled into him.
Earlier, a woman in her 50s was ridden over by an 18-wheeler truck on the R34 between Newcastle and Utrecht.
ER24 paramedics arrived on scene and discovered that the woman had already succumbed to the multiple injuries she sustained.
Both incidents are under investigation by local authorities.
