Seventeen people were injured one critically so after a taxi overturned on the Mangasuthu Highway east bound this morning at around 08h00. Reports indicate that the vehicle was traveling towards Durban when the driver veered off the road and overturned , the wreckage coming to rest on its side in the opposite carriage way.
Netcare 911 paramedics and the emergency services arrived at the scene and found the patients scattered over a large area. After triaging it was found that one female sustained critical injuries, six people were seriously injured while ten escaped with minor injuries.
After the injured were treated at the scene paramedics transported them to a local hospital for the care that they required.
