The Department’s Driver of the Year competition better known as “Thuthukisa Abashayeli” has kicked off with the Pietermaritzburg
Regional competition held at Mkhondeni Testing Station this past weekend where 70 drivers participated. The winner under the “Rigid” category was Wiseman Magwaza from Msunduzi Municipality and the runner-ups were Eric Masupa from Barloworld and Sizwe Ndzimande from uMzimkhulu Municipality.
Agrippa Mhlongo from Imbali became the winner under the Bus category and the runner-ups were Thulani Zondi and Kumakwakhe Sithole and they are all from Imbali Yezwe.
Articulated category winner was Imraan Sheik, and the runner-ups were Muhammed Dawood and Devesh Jungalee and the winners in the “Delivery Vehicles” category were Mohisin Cassim, Sbibusiso Nkosi and Bonga Mzulwini and they are all from Bakers.
